Nijigen Art Contest: I would like to thank everyone who submitted artwork for their time and talent, as well as the effort they put forth in helping me add content to this site to better promote Nijigen.
For those who didn't win, there is always next time. And as long as I can keep money in the coffers, or motivate artists in another manner, these contests will continue. The deadline for submissions for the next contest will be March 1st, with a first place reward of 150,000cr and a second place reward of 50,000cr. Thank Rym for judging this contest, and the thought and time away from playing with himself it took him to make these decisions.
Below are results, images, and comments for the fourth quarter of the 2003 Nijigen Art Contest. Honorable mentions sorted in no particular order.

Artist: Zelda
Design: Photoshop
Status: First Place
Notes: The phantasm included in this image is rather interested, from the ice-craft katana, emerald-form katana, neck-bag of the silk cherry mouse, et cetera ... right down to the boots of ascent. Manic and Zelda, clad in Niji-gear. Everyone, a round of applause for Zelda!

|
|
Artist: Circ Aloriath
Design: Mech. Pencil
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: This is the picture that would've brought Hiro's and Heeryu's schemes to an end, but Zelda had to upstage it. >.>; A sonchin hiding in the tropical marshes of the Lakai island chain. Fear the sonchin!

|
Artist: Manic Fox
Design: MSPaint
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A decapitated little Elven ... something. Farmer, warrior, citizen? Yes, citizen sounds about right. Pixel-by-pixel, Manic pieced together this interesting little piece of .GIF-ART; keep up the work!

|
Artist: Manic Fox
Design: MSPaint
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: And as if one depiction of the Elven races of Nijigen wasn't enough, Manic whips out a dirty little night Elf. -`Loathes Sseh, loathes him utterly.`- ... err, anyway, nicely done!

|
Artist: Shattered Saint
Design: Rhino 3D Image Suite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A silver longsword. If you ask me, this little thing-am-a-jigger, despite its association with manticores, is a sweet blade. I used it for a while until I fell upon something much angry called Tyrfing. Anyway, bad ass swad!

|
Artist: Maria
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Mushrooms many, come to play, mushroom salad! Maria has ... shroom power. >.>; I must say, she drew a very nice, LSD-effected mushroom. It almost looks happy to see me. o_o;

|
Artist: Zelda
Design: Photoshop
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Portal fairies of colors many, so bright, sweet, and yet so angry. They'll smile seductively at you, turn around, and ream you right up the garden salad. So... avoid the cute portal fairies.

|
Artist: Blue Flower*
Design: Colored Pencils
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Yes, more fairies! I have to wonder what people's obsession with fairies is. I find it disturbing, despite how sexy they are (especially in this particular entry). Blue is truly ze artist. ;]

Artist: Raiyo-shun Devado
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: I'm not sure who/what this is suppose to portray in Nijigen, but for the sake of brevity I'll just call it a rogue. It seems very ... Rogue-esque to me. oO; ...

|
Artist: Raiyo-shun Devado
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: And, like the above, I'll call this one a traveling form-master, because he just seems like he has some magic up his sleeve, or rather ... a wee bit o' magic coming out of his sleeves.

|
Artist: Omi Gainsbrough
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Angry, rugged, wild ... the Shiachi Island cat! Stay away from this furry, or it'll rip you a new one where the Niji-sun and the silken don't shine (refer to the book 'the Silken' if that went over your head).

Artist: Circ Aloriath
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: So, like, one day I heard people think that my telescopic tower in Kai Saiune is pretty cool, so I decide to draw a picture of it. I screwed up on a few things, but overall I think it came out none the worse for wear. Enjoy!

|
Artist: Raiyo-shun Devado
Design: Colored Pencils
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: I believe this is Raiyo-shun Devado's Niji-character picture. Nicely done for the style it was done in, and an interesting blend of hues, colors, and whatnot. Pretty good, overall. Keep at it, Raiyo.

Artist: Hiro (allegedly)
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Whoever drew this, congratulations. :P It is suppose to be a shadow lord, and I guess it is a pretty good representation of one ... if you disregard the hints and tells that somebody is obviously obsessed with the Megaman art style.
|
|
|
Artist: Heeryu (allegedly)
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: I increased the contrast on it so I could see it better; this is a picture of Kenshin (gee, I bet everyone figured that one out), which I guess relates to Anime Cap, which I guess relates to ... Nijigen?

|
|
Artist: Heeryu (allegedly)
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: Tai Xing, a shadow dragon, and some feathers. Like the picture of the shadow lord: whoever drew this, congratulations. They should keep drawing and improving their art style.
