Nijigen Art Contest: I would like to thank everyone who submitted artwork for their time and talent, as well as the effort they put forth in helping me add content to this site to better promote Nijigen.

For those who didn't win, there is always next time. And as long as I can keep money in the coffers, or motivate artists in another manner, these contests will continue. The deadline for submissions for the next contest will be June 1st, with a first place reward of 250,000cr and a second place reward of 100,000cr.

Below are results, images, and comments for the first quarter of the 2004 Nijigen Art Contest. Honorable mentions sorted in no particular order.

Artist: Seth
Design: Graphite
Status: First Place
Notes: The most recent and best drawing Seth has sent in to me so far: one bad-ass dual-headed fire-hawk, cool to the last hyphen. I like the pose, and the neatness of the drawing. Seth's drawing style is also interesting, and I anticipate seeing how it develops in the future.

Artist: Maria
Design: Colored Pencils, Paint
Status: Second Place
Notes: The peaceful home of an ascetic, nestled in the quiet forests west of Kai Saiune, perhaps? Or maybe an armory in one of Nijigen's many abandoned villages, long-since overgrown with vegetation? You decide! I just know that Maria did a great job on this. ;]

Artist: Seth
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A manticore on the prowl, and this one doesn't look blind or docile, so beware... it just may try to eat you for dinner if you aren't successful in nabbing its teeth to make the legendary manticore-tooth necklace. Bwahahaha!

Artist: Seth
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A dragon, soaring through the air, n' such, ready to devour its prey or eject a plume of fire where the sun don't shine. A few anatomical problems in this drawing, but overall it isn't bad.

Artist: Seth
Design: Graphite
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A dwarf, resting with his handy Dwarven battle axe after having recently cut down a few mighty steelwood trees in the forest of Elvendsraa. Fortunately for this Dwarf, the Elves don't mind it when others play with their wood. They have an abundance of it, anyway. -_^

Artist: Zelda
Design: Ink, Photoshop
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: A cute little sketch that was later Photoshop'd of Nijigen's very own cute little law ma --- err, law crab, Kenshiro! Sure, he is is evil, and most people can't stand his crabbiness, but with a cute little wizard's hat, what's not to make you want to pinch his cheeks and say, "awww!"

Artist: Circ Aloriath
Design: Mech. Pencil, Photoshop
Status: Honorable Mention
Notes: My very own spiffy sketch of an ice demon, being crushed by an Elmekia lance of doom. DOOM! -`Coughs.`- Anyway, this is my 3rd or 4th attempt at coloring something in Photoshop, and I think I did a pretty good job. Showed it to Rym, who made a few tiny changes, and bamph! Here it is.

Updated: I made a few changes to the site, just 'cause I had nothing else to do. Login to Nijigen and an actual link to Anime Cap.
